"The Gun" by C.J. Chivers

I am currently listening to the audio book "The Gun" by C.J. Chivers, its an interesting tale on the evolution of the AK47 through machine gun development from the Gatling gun on up. While not a complete account it provides an interesting flow to the A47's development. The book also discusses AK47's superiority in many respects to the M16 due to its simplicity and reliability. It's a bit wordy and rehashes items a few times but, if you're interested in firearms i would recommend this book..
